Yellowcraig Site & Beach~ East Lothian

Hello everyone! Welcome back to Hidden Tourist Spots Across Scotland. The next hidden tourist destination in Scotland is a recent family trip of ours to Yellowcraig caravan and motorhome club site.

Touring Facilities & Pass Times

After buying our motor home we joined the caravan and motorhome club, as they provide excellent discounts to touring members, and we have, from experience, found that endorsed sites tend to have higher standards with regards to facilities. As you may have already gathered, our family love a sandy, golden beach walk along the coastline, so it is no surprise that we loved this site. The beach again, is only a brisk walk away from the site, with an ice cream van conveniently stationed along the way, enticing ice cream lovers such as myself! Once you have reached the coastline, you will be in prime viewing spot of the bass rock, and other islands. For any wildlife lovers amongst readers, this one will appeal to you, as there is an abundance of wildlife and sea birds sweeping through the dunes. If you are feeling particularly sporty, there are plenty of water-sport activities to take part in, although I cannot review them as we opted for a more relaxing stroll. If you are looking to go further afield, then there is bus route nearby which provides a ten-minute commute to Edinburgh centre.

Handy Tips + Tricks

One small flaw that we found was that there are limited shops nearby, so if you are staying for a few nights be sure to stock up on food and drinks for the duration of your stay. However, if there are any small necessities that. you need, the small shop at reception is likely to accommodate your needs.

Overall Review

For us as a a family, we found that this site was particularly well kept and hygienic, which is exactly what you are looking for in a touring site. Although we found that the site was quiet and relaxing, if you are looking for more activities and day trips, there is plenty of public transport and walking routes nearby to explore, which is what it is all about!

Another post released tomorrow so keep an eye out!
